Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade has become the new Alaafin of Oyo, following Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval.
According to a statement signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade was recommended by the Oyomesi and approved by the Governor of Oyo State following extensive consultations and divinations.
The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ademola Ojo, has released a statement to this effect. The Commissioner stated that the announcement has resolved all socio-legal disputes that have arisen since His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, passed away on April 22, 2022.
Hon. Ademola Ojo urged all Oyo State residents to support the new Alaafin of Oyo and join the government in commemorating this historic occasion.
