The campaign so far has been a remarkably calm period for markets, with the pound and the FTSE 100 down around 0.5% since the vote was called, while 10-year gilt yields are down about 15 basis points. According to The Niche, Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the UK Conservative Party, has charged that the Nigerian police steal from the public rather than defend them.

In an interview with a UK journalist, Badenoch—who had been making fun of Nigeria before taking over as head of the opposition Conservative Party in the UK—made the remark.

She was questioned if she trusted the UK police by the British journalist. To which she replied: “I do. I had a terrible encounter with the Nigerian Police. I had a great experience with the British Police when I first arrived in the UK.

“The police in Nigeria will rob us (laughter). When people say I have this bad experience with the police because I’m black, I say well…I remember the police stole my brother’s shoe and his watch.”

The interviewer screamed in surprise. “They took his watch and his shoe.” It’s a really poor country,” Kemi went on. Individuals engage in a variety of activities. Thus, granting someone a gun is merely permission to threaten them. However, that is not the only issue. We should not use that bar for the British Police. For instance, the cops were present when I was burgled. Before they apprehended the individual, they were helpful. This was twenty years ago, in 2004.
