It was a nightmare for the home team as Bart Verbruggen gave Chelsea the lead with a howler, parrying Cole Palmer’s bouncing delivery into his own side-netting on five minutes.

Brighton, however, recovered from humiliation at Nottingham Forest in spectacular fashion, defeating Chelsea in their all Premier League FA Cup fourth round match.
Brighton came back strong after falling behind, and seven minutes later Georginio Rutter equalized after grabbing a wonderful Joel Veltman cross.
They were the superior team for the whole of the match and were rewarded after the interval when Kaoru Mitoma completed Brighton’s comeback by skillfully flicking over Robert Sanchez.
