A dramatic scene unfolded at an FCMB bank branch in Lagos after a man believed to be attempting a heist was discovered hiding in the building’s ceiling overnight.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect entered the premises during normal business hours and discreetly locked himself in a restroom. He then reportedly climbed into the ceiling, waiting silently until after the branch had closed and all employees had left for the day.
By the following morning, staff members were puzzled to find one of the interior doors jammed shut from the inside. Upon forcing it open, they were stunned to find the intruder allegedly tampering with parts of the bank’s computer systems. Some workstations reportedly displayed unusual on-screen prompts such as “restarting click ok to accept.”
Videos from the scene have since gone viral, showing the suspect pleading for mercy and claiming he had no accomplices. While FCMB has not yet released an official statement, multiple clips show him being apprehended and physically restrained by on-site security officers.
The incident has sparked discussions online about banking security and insider loopholes. Further investigation is expected to determine the extent of the attempted breach.
