Paris Saint-Germain made history at Anfield by eliminating Liverpool from the UEFA Champions League race.

After the Reds had won the first leg away from home, PSG wanted to become the first team ever to eliminate Liverpool from a European match. They did so from the penalty spot after Gianluigi Donnarumma saved penalties from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones.
The French champions were one goal behind in the first leg match in Paris last week, but Ousmane Dembélé tied the score inside 12 minutes, despite a dominant start from the hosts at Anfield, and the game ended 1-1 aggregate with neither team scoring again.

Gianluigi Donnarumma saved penalties from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones and bounced Liverpool out of the Champions League race. PSG progress to the Champions League quarter-finals and they are to face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the next phase.
