Plymouth thrashed Liverpool out of FA Cup to advance to fifth round of the FA cup. Liverpool’s hopes of completing a historic quadruple were dashed after the championship team showed them the exit door.
The 53rd-minute penalty taken by Ryan Hardie was enough to seal the victory for the Pilgrims and confirm the shocking exit of Liverpool out of the FA Cup race.
Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League, having advanced to the Champions League last 16 and the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle in March.
However, Sunday’s setback means that FA Cup triumph is out of reach this season, and the club will be unable to capture a remarkable four trophies in manager Arne Slot’s first season at Anfield.
Arne Slot and his team are still on track for a treble, but the FA Cup is now out of reach after a shock defeat at Plymouth.
