Real Madrid easily defeated Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off thanks to the hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé.
In less than four minutes into the match, the La Liga giants went ahead on the night, with Mbappé the man to strike. The Frenchman chased a long pass from Raúl Asencio over the top, he got the ball and muscled City’s defenders then lifted the ball over Ederson and in.

After 34 minutes, he made it two thanks to a fantastic, flowing play. Vinicius Jr., located by Jude Bellingham, squared up to Rodrygo. The Brazilian might have gone alone, but instead he fed Mbappe, who blasted home after cutting inside with ease.
On the hour, Mbappé scored his third goal, cutting inside Phil Foden on the right and shooting with his left foot into the far corner from outside the box.
However, City had a goal in stoppage time after Omar Marmoush’s free kick hit the crossbar and González tapped into an empty net. But it was too late for them to savage a comeback.
The La Liga giants beautifully won the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu 3-1, securing a 6-3 aggregate victory. Kylian Mbappe drowned City but sailed Madrid into the last 16 of the Champions League.
