On Sunday, Fulham cast Red Devils out of the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford in disheartening fashion in front of the home fans.
Calvin Bassey gave Fulham the lead just before the break but Manchester United equalized at 71th minute with a goal from Fernandes.
The game lacked quality and control throughout, with limited opportunities due to both teams’ subpar performances. The game ended in a penalty shootout after they played 1-1 for the rest of the game including extra time.
Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Casemiro scored their penalties, but the Lilywhites’ savior and goalie stopped Lindelof’s and Zirkzee’s spot kicks, respectively. Fulham advanced to the next stage of their FA Cup journey in exchange for the Red Devils’ elimination from the race.

Tomorrow evening, Nottingham Forest face Ipswich Town to battle for final place in the quarter-finals and play against Brighton in the next phase.
