Chelsea defeated Tottenham in a vital victory for their Champions League aspirations, thanks to a header from Enzo Fernandez in the second half.
Chelsea squandered two key chances in the first half, with Nicolas Jackson hitting the post in the first minute and Guglielmo Vicario making a spectacular stop to deny Jadon Sancho on the verge of halftime.
On the 50th minute, Fernandez put the Blues with a magnificent header. Moises Caicedo appeared to increase Chelsea’s lead with a fantastic volley, but was later ruled out for offside.
Tottenham’s Pape Sarr was disallowed a goal by VAR following a foul on Caicedo in the build-up.
Chelsea held on, secured the three points and moved back into the top four. A renewal of Champions League dream.
