On Wednesday morning, two people were killed and one seriously injured in a fatal accident at Eldorado Cina Junction along Airport Road in Kano.
A commercial DAF truck and a private Jincheng motorcycle were involved in a collision, which happened at around 8:15 a.m. According to the Kano Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the collision was caused by reckless driving.
CRC Abdullahi Labaran, the Sector Public Education Officer, confirmed the occurrence and said that FRSC members reached the area within three minutes after being alerted.
“We regret to report a fatal road traffic crash that occurred today, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 0815 hours along Airport Road, Eldorado Cinema Junction. CRC Labaran stated.
“Our operatives acted swiftly to rescue the injured victim and transport him to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, while the deceased were taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital,” he added.
He also said that two men were killed and one seriously injured out of the six men who were engaged in the collision. The other three made it out unscathed.
For additional investigation, the cars and recovered objects were turned over to the Gwagwarwa Police Division.
In addition to wishing the injured a speedy recovery and offering condolences to the families of the deceased, the FRSC urged drivers to drive carefully and to always follow traffic laws in order to prevent traffic accidents.
