Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has disclosed that the team is yet to receive the promised $100,000 reward and other commitments made by the Federal Government after their triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade expressed her disappointment over the delayed payment.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons soar to win record-breaking 10th WAFCON title

When asked, “Have they delivered the $100,000?” she replied:

“We have not received our money, but hopefully it will be paid. They have not paid; all the promises, we have not received anything.”

Ajibade captained the Super Falcons to victory in Morocco, securing their record-extending WAFCON title.

Following their historic win, President Bola Tinubu conferred national honours of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the players and coaching staff, alongside promises of $100,000 and a three-bedroom flat for each player.

While receiving the team at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu praised them for their “indomitable spirit of resilience, determination and courage,” hailing the victory as a proud moment for Nigeria.
