Access to quality healthcare just got a major lift in parts of Adamawa State as Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa South, partnered with the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) to provide essential medical equipment to underserved communities.
Over the weekend, new supplies were delivered to the Primary Health Centres in Kojoli (Jada LGA) and Fufore (Fufore LGA). The move aims to strengthen healthcare delivery in rural areas where residents often struggle to access medical services.
Speaking during the presentation in Kojoli, Senator Binos explained that the intervention was designed to meet the pressing healthcare needs of local communities. He noted that many residents previously had to cross into neighbouring Cameroon just to receive medical attention—a journey that posed serious risks and health complications.
These communities already have health centres, but the lack of equipment meant they couldn’t function effectively,” Binos said. “With beds, surgical instruments, and other vital tools now provided, these facilities can serve the people as intended.”
Representing the BCDA, Mrs. Roselyn Abuh, Director of Special Duties (Health, Education, and Social Services), highlighted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes inclusive development and ensuring no community is left behind.
The new equipment is expected to significantly reduce health risks, improve maternal and child care, and save countless lives across Adamawa’s border communities.
