Real Madrid will play Man City in the play off round of the Champions League. Big tie for a spot in the last-16.
Last year, Madrid defeated City in a penalty shootout at the Etihad in the quarterfinals, ending City’s chances of keeping the Champions League.

In a thrilling Champions League play-off, Manchester City will take on Real Madrid, while Celtic will play Bayern Munich in an attempt to advance to the round of 16.
The 15-time European winners will face Pep Guardiola’s team in the glitzy play-off round match after they defeated Club Brugge 3-1 in their last league-phase match to barely get to the next round.
City’s tie with Madrid, means Celtic will face Bayern Munich. With the draw, City and Madrid will play each other in their fifth two-leg match in the last six seasons.
The victor of the match will go to the round of 16 to play either Bayer Leverkusen or Atletico Madrid.
The same is true for Celtic if they advance past Bayern. In addition to playing Newcastle in between the two Real Madrid matches, City will host Liverpool in the Premier League a few days prior to their second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
