For the first time since February 2024, Prince Harry has reunited with his father, King Charles III.
On Wednesday, the Duke of Sussex was spotted arriving at Clarence House in London, just over an hour after the king returned from Scotland. The visit, widely covered by British media, is believed to mark their first face-to-face meeting since Harry rushed to the UK last year following news of his father’s cancer diagnosis.

Harry, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and now lives in California, has had a strained relationship with the monarchy. In May, he admitted that he and his father were not on speaking terms, citing ongoing court cases in the UK and fallout from his tell-all interviews and memoir.
Still, he has not hidden his desire to heal the rift. As he said earlier this year, he hoped for “reconciliation” because he did “not know how much longer my father has.”
The prince has been in the UK since Monday for various engagements. His trip included a quiet visit to Windsor, where he paid respects at the grave of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September 2022.
Although Harry had traveled to Britain three times since his last meeting with the king, circumstances kept them apart even once when they were only two miles from each other at separate events. Rumors of a reunion grew stronger in July when the king’s press secretary and Harry’s communications chief were seen meeting in London.
Adding to the speculation, the Mail on Sunday published a photograph showing the two sides in discussion on a private terrace.
This week’s meeting at Clarence House is being seen as a potentially significant step toward mending ties within the royal family.
