The quiet community of Kajola, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been thrown into grief and fear after the shocking murder of a 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Otu. He was allegedly tortured to death by a suspected drug baron identified as Eze Amadi, popularly known as “Lecturer.”
According to reports, Amadi allegedly killed Ifeanyi and hid his body inside a water drum under the cover of darkness. The suspect was said to have attempted to dispose of the corpse using a motorcycle but was intercepted by vigilant residents, leading to his arrest. The disturbing incident occurred on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Adeyalo Street, Kajola, and has since sent shockwaves through the entire community.
Residents, still shaken by the gruesome discovery, revealed that suspicious noises had been heard from the suspect’s residence days before the murder came to light. One resident said:
“Nobody knows what transpired between them, but we do hear a crying person every night when being tortured.”
For the victim’s family, the news has been nothing short of heartbreaking. His father, Mr. Michael Agwu Otu, recounted how he was informed about the tragic discovery.
“I was at home that fateful day when I received a call that my son’s body, wrapped with foam, had been discovered inside a water drum.
When I got to the scene, I saw him lying lifeless after the drum was cut open. I was also told that the suspect was caught while trying to transport his body on a motorcycle. The entire community was furious and demanded his arrest.”
The community’s youth leader, Gideon Akinsuroju, confirmed that Amadi and two of his alleged accomplices were handed over to the police.
“This is a disturbing incident that has left everyone in shock. We urge the police to ensure justice is served and the culprits face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.
As of the time of reporting, police authorities have not released an official statement regarding the case. Meanwhile, Kajola residents remain in fear, demanding swift justice to restore calm in the community.
