According to reports, Israel Adesanya, the former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion wins $500K in ex-girlfriend Charlotte Powdrell’s legal case.
Israel and Charlotte were never married and never had children, but after they split up, she sued him, claiming that they had dated for too long and that he should have married her. She demanded half of his estimated $15 million fortune.
Unknown to Charlotte, Taiwo Adesanya, Israel Adesanya’s mother, has reportedly been handling all of his money management since the start of his career, maintaining his net worth legally listed at “zero” $0.0. Consequently, the court decided that Adesanya has no assets of his own. Thus, the legal battle between them took a surprising turn.
This case is similar to the “Hakimi style”, which refers to Moroccan football player Achraf Hakimi, who transferred all his assets to his mother’s name which protected half of all he had worked for from claimed by his ex-wife.
Powdrell was reportedly ordered to pay him $500,000, instead of getting a portion of Israel Adesanya’s wealth. The court ordered her to split her assets, which were valued at $1 million and Israel to receive $500k: half of the assets.
