Gurpreet Gogi, an Indian member of the Legislative Assembly, fatally shot himself to death by accident.
According to his family, the Aam Admi Party MLA shot himself by accident and suffered head injuries. After the event, which happened at midnight, he was taken to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
Gogi was discovered dead late Friday night from gunshot wounds, according to a Gulf News story early on Saturday.
The fatality was confirmed by a Punjab Police official, who said it seemed to be an accident.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja told the reporters, As per the family members, he shot himself accidentally and sustained bullet injuries to his head. Gurpreet Gogi was declared dead at the hospital, his body has been kept at the mortuary in the DMC hospital.”
He added “Cause of the death will be clear once the post-mortem reports come.”
To determine the circumstances surrounding the occurrence, more investigations are being conducted, according to Gulf News.
In the Ludhiana assembly elections, Gogi, who joined the AAP in 2022, made news when he defeated Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a two-time Congress MLA.
