
The Federal Government declared public holidays for the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr celebration: Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
This was declared in a statement released by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on Wednesday by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
“On behalf of the Federal Government, he extended heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslim faithful and prayed that the blessings of the season bring happiness, success, and fulfillment to everyone,” the statement read.
In addition to congratulating Muslims across for successfully completing the Ramadan fast, Tunji-Ojo encouraged them to uphold the values of self-control, kindness, generosity, and peace.
He emphasized the value of love, forgiveness, and unity in creating a peaceful community and urged people to observe the holiday in a responsible and safe manner.
