Thomas Tuchel has announced his England squad for the September World Cup qualifiers, and there are some major talking points. While the German coach has stuck with familiar names like Jordan Henderson, he has left out high-profile players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jack Grealish.

The Three Lions are preparing for matches against Andorra and Serbia, aiming to extend their perfect run in Group K after three wins from three without conceding a goal.

Key Absentees and Surprise Inclusions

The biggest surprise is the omission of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has endured a difficult start to life at Real Madrid. Everton loanee Jack Grealish, despite showing good form early this season, has also missed out on a recall. Foden as well, couldn’t make it.

Meanwhile, Tuchel has rewarded emerging talent with call-ups for Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest, the latter set for his senior debut.

In defence, John Stones, Marc Guehi, and Tino Livramento return, while Djed Spence earns his first senior England call-up. Injuries have ruled out Levi Colwill and Jude Bellingham, while Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer are also unavailable.

Another notable situation involves Arsenal’s Ben White, who reportedly told Tuchel he was ready to play for England again after years away from international duty. However, he misses out this time due to a minor injury.
