Following a ski accident, Singaporean celebrity jewelry designer Lynn Ban, who appeared on the Netflix reality series Bling Empire, passed just one month after undergoing brain surgery.

Sebastian, her son, paid tribute to his mother, 51, calling her a “best friend and the best mother” in an Instagram post on Wednesday, confirming her passing.

On Christmas Eve in the United States, the accident occurred in Aspen.

The reason of death for Ban was not disclosed by her family.

On New Year’s Eve, Ban disclosed on social media that she had “face planted” after falling while skiing at the summit of a mountain.

Wearing a helmet, she claimed that “it didn’t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom,” and that a ski patrol officer subsequently examined her for a concussion and cleared her.

However, she still felt “a bit of a headache” and, after consulting a paramedic, decided to visit a hospital. After learning she suffered a brain hemorrhage, she underwent an emergency craniotomy.

She had commented, “In a blink of an eye… life can change,” in the post, along with a photo of herself in bed with her head half-shaved. “There’s a long road of recovery ahead but I’m a survivor.”

Ban, who was born in Singapore, has had jobs in Paris, London, and New York.

According to her website, renowned pop artists Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Billie Eilish have all worn her designs.

She was among a group of Asian American socialites who “flaunt their fortunes — and fashions — while bringing the drama and living it up in New York City” on Bling Empire New York in 2023, according to Netflix.

Sebastian Ban stated in his homage that he wanted everyone to be aware of his mother’s personality.

“She always had a smile on her face even when times are tough during her recovery process,” he stated.

“She is a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know,”
