Amnesty International accused Israel on Thursday of perpetrating genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, a claim that Israel denied as “entire false.”

The foreign ministry of Israel issued a statement saying, “Again, the vile and fanatical organization Amnesty International has produced a fabricated report that is entirely false and based on lies.”

It was claimed that the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas was “genocidal.”

According to the statement, Israel is “defending itself… acting fully in accordance with international law.”

According to rights group Amnesty International, its conclusions were supported by fieldwork, ground reports from Gazans, satellite photos showing destruction, and “dehumanizing and genocidal statements by Israeli government and military officials.”

Amnesty International asked states to cease arms transfers to Israel, calling its 300-page study a “wake-up call” for the global community.

According to an AFP count based on government data, 1,208 people were killed in Hamas’ October 7 bombing that ignited the conflict last year, the majority of whom were civilians.

According to estimates from the health ministry of the Hamas-run enclave, which the UN considers credible, Israel’s retaliatory attack has killed at least 44,532 individuals in Gaza, the majority of them were civilians.
