2 killed, 18 injured in U.S after small Plane Crashes Into building.

According to authorities, a small plane crashed through the roof of a business building in Southern California on Thursday, killing two people and injuring eighteen more.

According to Fullerton police spokesperson Kristy Wells, authorities received a complaint about the collision in the Orange County city at 2:09 p.m.

When firefighters and police arrived on the site, they suppressed a fire that had started and evacuated nearby businesses, according to Wells.

The warehouse, which looked to have sewing machines and textile goods, was damaged in the fire.

According to authorities, eight individuals were treated and discharged at the site, while ten were transported to the hospital. Wells said there were two verified deaths.

It was not immediately clear what kind of plane it was or if the injured were on the ground or inside the aircraft. Wells added.

A single-engine, four-seat aircraft crashed approximately one minute after takeoff, according to FlightAware, a website that tracks flights. As the plane seemed to plunge into the building slanted on its side, security camera footage from Rucci Forge, a wheel manufacturing across the street, shows a blazing explosion and a sizable column of black smoke.

Disneyland is roughly 6 miles (10 km) away from Fullerton Municipal Airport, a general aviation airport in Orange County, where the jet crashed. It features a single heliport and runway. A residential area and commercial warehouse buildings located on either side of the neighbouring Metrolink regional train line.

In November of last year, another four-seat aircraft made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff and crashed into a tree a half-mile from the airport, according to the Orange County Register. Both passengers were moderately injured.
